Save Today's Sun for Tomorrow's Rain

When I’m in raw nature, I get inspired and feel peaceful. I think about the beauty around me as I swim, hike, relax, and make bonfires. I don’t miss a thing. One thing I fail to consider sometimes is that I am recording memories that I will summon throughout my life. I can use these as an escape from any stressful situation.

I read a book on stress once that suggested I envision a picture from my memory that I found relaxing. Ever since then, my image has been rolling in the waves at the beach. When I have felt stresses, that image has brought me calm. Now, as I sit by this campfire at Silverwood Lake, I’m reminded of how valuable relaxing images can be. Cherish those peaceful memories, they can neutralize stress and make your future life more rested and calm.
