Down Time

It’s a celebration when you get a break from work. I get 14 days starting now. One thing though, in the years it takes to earn a degree, gain prominence in a profession along with the respect of your bosses, you get a bit tired. Maybe you can call it jaded. Two weeks off ends up being a breath as does a Summer off, again and again for 17 years until you realize there is no true renewal, only a change of scenery for a time.

I know that may sound ridiculous to the person reading this who has no break in sight. To that one I would say, do what you want, the money will follow (and the breaks). Along the way, college degrees and a respect for the systems of the world goes a long way. This Christmas, I’m planning on blogging that includes seeing several hand picked movies and reviewing them.
